Pascrell invites DuPont chief, Pompton Lakes, NJ residents to Washington DC

March 30, 2010- Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. said Friday that he will invite the head of DuPont to Washington to discuss the company’s progress in cleaning up contamination that has spread from a munitions factory the company once operated in Pompton Lakes. Pascrell said he would also invite a resident from the Pompton Lakes neighborhood affected by the contamination.

After Pascrell and Lisa Jackson, head of the federal Environmental Protection Agency, attended a closed meeting in the borough with some residents and local Pompton Lakes officials on Friday, Pascrell uttered some of the strongest language to date from any federal official about the seriousness of the contamination and the slowness of the cleanup.
