February 25, 2010 - It quickly became apparent to Ionia Department of Public Safety firefighters that they were not dealing with a simple kitchen fire in the 300 block of East Washington Street on the night of Feb. 23, 2010.
They were dealing with a methamphetamine lab. Two male suspects had fled the residence on foot prior to IDPS arriving on scene and a 20-year-old woman who resided in the apartment was taken to Sparrow Ionia Hospital. She was treated and released.
