July 8, 2008 - A property owner whose well has been contaminated for years by the state Department of Transportation’s nearby store of road salt is so fed up with the state’s handling of the problem she has asked for federal intervention.
Judy Nanni, whose house on Route 179 near the DOT yard is one of nine affected properties, wrote a letter June 25 to President George Bush and other elected officials in higher office asking for help because the property owners have been unable to get the DOT to resolve the matter in an acceptable and timely manner.
The problem has dragged on for years.
